In Madea’s Destination Wedding, the family heads to a luxurious Caribbean island to celebrate the wedding of Lisa (Keke Palmer), Madea’s great-niece, and her charming but mysterious fiancé, Julian (Rome Flynn). What starts as a dream getaway quickly spirals into chaos as Madea suspects Julian isn’t who he claims to be.

After a series of hilarious misadventures involving lost passports, Aunt Bam (Cassi Davis) accidentally joining a beach cult, and Mr. Brown (David Mann) getting sunburned while trapped in a hammock, Madea begins to dig into Julian’s past. With the help of airport Wi-Fi and a shady island bartender, she uncovers that Julian has a secret family—and a history of fraud.

On the wedding day, just as Lisa is about to say “I do,” Madea bursts in with a slideshow presentation of receipts, baby mamas, and one very angry ex. Chaos erupts, and the ceremony devolves into a food fight. But in true Madea fashion, things turn heartfelt: Lisa realizes she deserves better, and the family rallies around her.

In the final scene, Madea officiates an impromptu vow renewal for Cora and a surprisingly emotional Mr. Brown. The family dances on the beach as fireworks light up the sky.
