Prison Break: Season 6 picks up four years after Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) faked his death—again. Living under a new identity in Costa Rica, Michael is forced out of hiding when his son, Mike Jr., is kidnapped by a rogue faction within the U.S. government trying to leverage Michael’s skills for covert prison extractions.

Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), now working legitimate construction jobs in Panama, reunites with Michael after discovering the truth. Meanwhile, Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) uncovers that the government program hunting Michael is linked to a secret facility known as “The Citadel”—an offshore, AI-controlled prison where political enemies vanish.

The brothers launch a mission to break into The Citadel and free Mike Jr., with help from old allies like Sucre and Mahone. Inside, they find a chilling twist: the prison was modeled after Michael’s own blueprints from Sona and Fox River—used without his knowledge.

As Michael navigates the prison’s digital traps, he confronts Agent Hartley, the mastermind who views Michael as a threat to global order. In the final two episodes, Michael sacrifices himself to override the AI system, allowing his son and Lincoln to escape.

But in a shocking final scene, surveillance footage shows Michael alive—now imprisoned in a secret black site known only as “Cell Zero.” His final line: “If you want to break the system… you have to be inside it.”
