The film thrusts Detectives Lee (Jackie Chan) and Carter (Chris Tucker) into an international conspiracy when Carter’s estranged son is kidnapped in Shanghai’s underground street-racing scene. Partnering with reluctant French detective Elise Dubois, the duo uncover a cartel smuggling tech weapons across Los Angeles, Shanghai, and Paris. Lee’s seamless martial arts and Carter’s bursting banter return as they chase leads through high-speed chases in neon-lit Hong Kong streets and tight Parisian alleyways.

When Lee is framed by corrupt Interpol agents, Carter turns rogue—hacking traffic systems to pull Lee from custody. A fiery climax atop the Seine Bridge sees Lee rescuing Carter’s son and dismantling the cartel’s operation. In a poignant moment, Carter apologizes for his absent fatherhood, and Lee nods, saying: “Maybe you’re not that bad after all.” It ends with them driving off in Carter’s souped-up cruiser—chaos and camaraderie restored.
